Regional Transport Plan

NEWS
SWWITCH was asked by the Assembly in January 2011 to prepare a Delivery Plan for the region in accordance with Guidance issued. The closing date for the submission was the end of February and the purpose of the plan was twofold:

• To describe progress made in the 2010/11 year on delivering the RTP and projects therein
• To put forward a bid for funding for 2011/12 for RTP projects, Road Safety Grant and consortia revenue support

All the consortia were given indicative allocations for which to bid and SWWITCH colleagues from across the region worked together to prepare a detailed plan. The submission was almost 150 pages long and so a summary plan has been prepared and is available below.

The great news is that SWWITCH bid for and was awarded the maximum amount of funding and for 2011/12 we will be spending almost £6m on RTP projects and road safety in the region.
